Follow these instructions for swapping out the ECM or TCM on your vehicle. This process transfers crucial data from the original TCM to the new one, without altering the software or segment versions on the new TCM.
Steps for a Successful Unlocked TCM Installation:
Connect VCM Scanner to Your Vehicle with the Stock TCM Installed
Open the VCM Scanner and navigate to “Vehicle Controls & Special Functions.”
Select “Replace TCM” (under System > General) to begin the process.
Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process for the stock TCM.
Replace the Stock TCM with the New Unlocked TCMOnce prompted, physically swap out the original TCM for the unlocked one.
Reconnect the Vehicle to VCM Scanner with the New TCM Installed
Open VCM Scanner again and navigate to “Vehicle Controls & Special Functions.”
Select “Replace TCM” once more (under System > General) to begin the function.
Follow the instructions to finish the process for the new unlocked TCM.
Download the TCM Read File
Save a read file from the unlocked TCM.
Generate and save an info log for reference.
Submit the Required Files
Send the TCM read file and info log to us for tuning.
Important Notes:
Shifting Issues: After installing the new unlocked TCM, test-drive your vehicle (even a short distance like down your driveway). If you notice rough shifting, it’s recommended to reinstall the factory TCM until you receive the updated TCM tune from us.
If shifting is smooth, you can leave the new unlocked TCM installed.
